About The Memphis IMC Club

Many pilots who don’t fly for a living struggle with maintaining currency and building their instrument skills.  The Memphis IMC Club provides an opportunity for these pilots to meet and discuss their real-world IFR experiences… and challenges.  The end result is that we all learn from each other, we become safer and more competent instrument pilots, and we have fun.

The Memphis IMC Club meets once each month, via Zoom. Meetings last about an hour. There is no membership requirement or cost associated with meetings. The only request is that you speak up, ask questions, and share your own real-world experiences!

We'll present a real-life IFR scenario.  The primary discussion (and lively debate?) will be, “What would you do?”

We'll also discuss Memphis-area aviation news and upcoming events.

FAASTeam WINGS credit is available.

The Memphis Chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association is a sponsor of The Memphis IMC Club.

A Brief History . . .

  • IMC Clubs are the brainchild of Radek Wyrzykowski, a master certified instrument and multiengine instructor. As a flight instructor in Massachusetts, Radek developed this volunteer mentor program to help instrument pilots improve their proficiency.

  • IMC Club chapters are a program of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Inc. Being part of the EAA family provides the network, the critical mass, and the resources to help take your safety and flying proficiency to the next level.

  • There are more than 100 IMC Clubs across the US.
